About This Event
This October 3, Shady Lane Cellars estate winery will host its annual fundraising event, Sunset Soiree,
for PoWeR! Book Bags in an effort to support children’s literacy and development initiatives. This is the third year the event has been hosted at the estate winery.
“We have selected this idyllic setting because of the atmosphere, high quality wine and the kindness and generosity of the staff and owners,” said Kara Gregory, , executive director and founder of PoWeR! Book Bags. The beautiful vineyard, the live music, the entire vibe of Shady Lane Cellars helps our volunteer and donor community relax and enjoy the event!”
Attendees will enjoy live music by Rock Hat, wine, charcuterie, dessert and more - all while surrounding by breathtaking vineyard views.
PoWeR! Book Bags is a 501(c)(3) that promotes language, literacy, and human interactions.supports children’s literacy from an early age. The nonprofit relies on a few hundred multigenerational volunteers who purchase items for the program – including play materials, writing materials and new books. PoWeR! Book Bags serves more than 20,000 children throughout Northern Lower Michigan.
